Flames engulfed the home of the Halliwells. Smoke shrouded the manor that was now nothing but a pile of debris.
The Ultimate Battle between Good and Evil was over.
In the distance, a car alarm blasted, interrupting the peace of the night. The night sky was polluted with the remains of what was once the tall standing manor.
It was the end of The Charmed Ones.
Or was it?
From the once-put-together living room a mound of rubble moved. Piper Halliwell slowly stood, her whole body throbbing. She climbed over the broken furniture, in a frantic search for what was lost. Her face was cut, her clothes in rags. She wiped her hair from her brow, leaving blood on her hand. Where the blood came from, she wasn’t sure.
Piper threw items from her home to the side. Things weren’t important; her sisters were. She dug through the ruins in search of them with no success. In desperation she sat down, yearning to just give up. Near her, the grandfather clock lay on its side, the hands of the clock broken and bent, no longer able to tell the time. The wooden frame was burnt from the high temperatures of the fire. Piper leaned against the once-beautiful clock. Trying to catch her breath she spotted an arm from under the ruins. She crawled over to it and tossed household items, pictures, and memories away from the body.
“Phoebe,” Piper gasped in horror. “I’m so sorry, sweetie.”
She held Phoebe’s limp body close to her. A few white orbs swaddled another being.
The Angel of Destiny appeared with Leo by her side.
“The Battle is done,” the Angel proclaimed. “Though the outcome, not what I expected.” The Angel nodded her head in condolences and then she was gone.
Leo stood dumbstruck. He looked at the destruction and nothing but confusion came to his mind.
“Hold her.” Piper ordered, passing Phoebe’s body to her husband. At Leo’s questioning look, Piper said just one word. “Paige.”
Again she hurled things out of her way in search for her youngest sister. “Paige!” she called out desperately. Her heart felt heavy. Paige was nowhere to be found. She wouldn’t rest until she found her and fixed this mess.
She turned to Leo, her face a study in agonized regret. “I was always too busy comparing Paige to Prue. She was just the replacement to carry on the Power of Three. I never took the time to accept Paige as Paige or as a sister.” Tears streamed down her face as guilt swept her emotions away. “I’m so sorry.” she apologized to her sisters again. They were dead and Piper couldn’t help but feel responsible.
Towards the dining room, she caught sight of movement. An arm flew up in the air with struggle. Ecstatic with the thought that Paige had survived, Piper ran to help her bright and bubbly youngest sister.
But it wasn’t Paige.
It was Billie.
“You!” Piper jumped onto Billie and began to unleash her fury; pummeling the girl they had treated as a fourth sister but who had betrayed them all horribly.
“Piper! What are you doing? Let her go.” Leo gently set Phoebe’s head back down on the ground then rushed to pull his wife off of Billie.
At the opportunity to get away, Billie jumped up and ran, leaving the manor, the Charmed Ones, and her sister behind.
Piper resisted Leo’s hold. “You let her get away! You let her go!” In an outrage and array of emotion Piper rested her head on Leo’s chest.
Sirens blared in the distance.
“Come on, Piper. We have to get out of here. There’s nothing left.”
Piper nodded in agreement, but she truly wanted to stay. She needed to find Paige. She needed closure. She turned to look at Phoebe’s body and the pile of rubble that must hide Paige’s. “I’m sorry for leaving. But I’ll be back. And I’m going to fix this. I don’t know how, but I’m going to fix this. I swear it.”
Leo led Piper toward the street. Piper looked over her shoulder at the devastation, staring at what was left. She hung her head in shame. Again she swore to her sisters that she would find a way to fix everything. She had to.
Neither Piper nor Leo noticed that they were stepping over the only two things that hadn’t been completely destroyed.
Two pictures.
One showed Prue, Piper, and Phoebe standing in front of the manor, the same picture that had moved them closer when Phoebe released their powers.
The other picture was of Piper, Phoebe, and Paige sitting on the couch, arms around each other, smiling and happy.
Perhaps there was hope after all.

Author's Notes:
- First, I have to thank Es for all she has done for me throughout this fic! From words of encouragement to brutal honesty and even hounding ( ) me to get this fic posted over here, she has been such a joy. I must credit her for using many, if not all of her suggestions...and even a couple of her ideas from her fic, "Charmed Forever". Also, thank you to her for revamping my prologue in order to make it the best it could be! Es, I cannot thank you enough, which is why you are one of the people I'd like to dedicate this fic to.
- If you have read this fic over at the Cafe, you will notice that over there it is titled "Blessed Be". The change in title is due to the fact that Es pointed out "Forever Sisters" fits so much better!
- I want to give special thanks to anyone else who read this fic while I was in the process of writing it at the Cafe. Your words kept me motivated to finish writing it.
- I'd like to dedicate this fic to everyone who thinks Charmed deserved a better way to go out.
- Read, review, criticize, or praise my fic as you please, but I hope after reading what would have happened if I were in charge of the finale, you are left with a satisfying sense of completion.
