Hey Es,
I love playing RPG's but I'm not very creative when it comes to thinking of plots and idea's to base it around! I'm currently apart of 'Forgotten Life'.. But like I said, I'm not creative enough to have my own lol

I just lost my job It's not my fault though, like I didn't do anything wrong but still it sucks!! The place where I am now can't afford to keep me on so I have to find somewhere else, thankfully they have given me a months notice so I can hopefully find somewhere else in that time! Anyone know any admin jobs going in Australia haha.. Has anyone else recently lost their job?

Oh, ALYSHA!! I'm SOOO very sorry to hear that! I had the same thing happened to me and it very simply sucked! BUT it led me to my current job which I love even more than I loved my other job. So here's hoping that the same thing will happen to you! But my thoughts and prayers are definitely with you.

I agree wholeheartedly sweetie -- there had better be a darned good reason. But I've been there and know how it feels. At least you got a month's notice -- I lost my job overnight. Here's the story (I had posted it at the Cafe the day it happened -- January 16, 2007. So this is taken directly from that thread): Now back to the present... Looking back, even though this was a major, major bummer then, I'm glad it happened. Why? Because now I'm back in school picking up my Master's degree (in library science and Information Technology) and loving every minute of it. The strange thing was that that day (01/16/07) I checked my horoscope -- both in the newspaper and online -- and they mentioned something about sudden changes occuring in my life and career. I took that as a sign that this was supposed to happen and that's what helped me to keep going. So keep your head up sweetie -- better things are on the horizon for you, I'm sure of it!

Thanks Sammi, yeah I also have another 2 weeks annual leave owing to me so hopefully *fingers crossed* in 6 weeks i can find something! I'm currently looking all over the jobsearch website trying to find something! I'v completed my resume YAY! *Happy Dance* so all i need now, is my boss's to give me my written references and ill be right to go start applying! Hopefully I will find something with the same payrate also, as I can't really afford to get paid much less! Geez the stress of things *sighs*!! Again all things happen for a reason!

Well, sweetie, if you can afford it, try to enjoy some time off before you dive right into a new job. In most jobs, you don't get vacation time right away...or at least that's the way it works in the States.
I was told on a Monday (sucked!) but actually had a hint earlier. THey were rearranging desks, so I was checking out this blueprint to see where I was going to sit. I found my spot and rather than my name, it said, "TBN"...."To be Named". Oops!! So I wasn't that shocked, just mad, especially because I'd been there for 23 years and you needed 25 to be fully vested for retirement!! They let me stay an extra week so I could get some final stuff done and it was awful, simply awful...I was in shock the entire time and kept saying things I shouldn't and lost some pretty good friends...
Actually they were pretty nice to me...I got a good severance package so I was able to take a whole month off before I started hunting (and during that time, they sent me to a place where I learned how to job-hunt) including a week at my SIL's cabin on the lake, which was very nice. ANd I just happened to be out walking when I saw a sign that said they needed a clerk, went back, got my resume, dropped it off, had the interview the next day and started the day after that!
So hopefully something like that will happen to you, too.

Well if your bosses know you well enough, then they would give you a shining reference, because we all know youre a star! Someone will snap you up! No doubt about it! Es is right though, get that time off! Meanie bosses hate giving you time off if they can help it!

I'll ditto that -- enjoy your time off! While I was hunting around, I worked various temp jobs for about a month to keep money in the ol' bank account and then spent 10 days (including my b-day) down in Florida visiting my grandpa. It was nice to get my mind off of the situation for awhile. After coming back I worked part time at another retail store and at a coffeshop before classes started up in the fall. Then I did (and still do) a couple of days a week at the library on campus -- just enough to be able to pay the bills and keep me from being idle. Don't worry, as I bet your references will be nothing less than stellar -- and somebody (if they're smart) will snap you up right away -- count on it!
