I don't know how everyone else is, but I seem to have a major case of writer's block - constantly. At times I get the urge to write, but most of the time, I just get ideas floating in my head and nothing comes out on paper or MS Word. And it's very annoying.
Anyway, I was thinking, maybe some kind of help forum? Writing Tips. Overcoming Writer's Block. Bounce ideas off of people to get suggestions on the direction of certain stories.
Maybe it'll help people write more? I mean, I understand this place is for completed fics, but people can still get into these periods of creative blocks, and talking with others and getting help would hopefully help.
What do you think?

That's a wonderful suggestion, Drama! Thank you very much for posting it here in the Suggestion Box!! Actually Primrose and I had been discussing a "Writers' Advice" board, something like the thread that you have going at the Cafe or that I had going at LoC (although neither have been updated in ages; in fact the Cafe one is locked...), but with your ideas, we might just expand it. What does anyone else think of this idea? Feel free to put your two cents in. For the time being, here's links to those threads: The Charmed Cafe's "Writing Advice" threadEs' Library of Charmed's "Writing Advice" forum

I think it is a fantastic idea. I would keep the focus on stories and RPGs, so that part of the board should appear near the bottom after all the RPGs.

I agree with Aurora. I think it's a great idea, I'd glady share any tips and tricks I've learnt over the years...and I'd love to read and learn any tips from others (I'm sure you all have 'em)

I love this idea. I've only wrote one Fan Fic & it took awhile to think of another story to write that isn't similar to my Fic on here. So this is a great idea.

I think it's a wonderful idea, it will allow different writers to explain their writing styles and how they achieve it. Everyone is different, everyone has their own style but maybe that little bit of help can be the incentive someone needs to put pen to paper.

And I'm happy that you guys like the idea. It's definitely something that we will do, so look for it in the News Fader.

I was wondering whether we could have a writing "game" forum, where members can set up certain challenges for other members to do. It would be part of the Round Table forum, under a sub-board.
Examples of challenges: "Continuation Challenge" - you have to continue a TV series; "Pilot Contest" write a pilot for an original story/series; "Inspiration Competition" sypnosis and characters are set, write a story using them.

OH! A challenge forum would be AWESOME! Like, someone writes a prompt and people can decide to write a story based on said-prompt. (I've got that going on with Gossip Girl fics, actually.)

Daniel and Jackie, I think you should start another thread for that idea. It doesn't really fit under writting tips.
