There are so many good fics on this site (and others, but I'll stick with this one). I would love to read them all, and hopefully I will eventually. However, I can't read them all at once, so I have to figure out some sort of order to read them in. I have seriously considered starting at the top and reading down . . . that of course would have everyone reading mine last
Anyway, I had an idea to help keep track of my reading plans on this site, a reading list. Of course I'm big on lists. I write them for just about everything, from stories to work on to what stuff I need to stock at work. The idea I am about to explain came from something over at the cafe. For those of you who have been there you might have noticed the blessed thread, for telling people that you blessed them (which I love, because you can know where that extra point came from if you get one.)
The idea is this, we could have a thread that lists the next several stories we plan to read. It's for the person posting it, but it might make someone's day if they go on there and see their story on someone's list. You could list as few as one or as many as . . . well, I'll leave that up to the admins to decide if they want to limit that. My plan would be to edit my post and strike through each story on my list as I read it until I had finished every story on my list. Then, I would start a new post. That's what I envision.
Another thing is that when I only have time to read part of a story, because of length or trying to cram in a chapter during my lunch brake, I tend to loose my place. When I mentioned this, it was suggested that I add something about that, so my suggestion for that is that for stories a person is in the middle of, that that person put the chapter number of the last read chapter at the end of the title, or some other type of note saying what chapter they read last.
So what do you guys think? Would that be something worth having on here? Or would I be the only one to use it? And Es and Primrose, would you even want a thread like that? It would be along the lines of reading, since it is a reading list. I wouldn't think it would need more than one thread, unless the limit of replies was reached.
