INDEX CARD
TITLE: Victor’s Verdict
AUTHOR: StoryGirl83
TYPE: One-Shot
RATING: K
LEAD CHARACTERS: Paige and Victor
ORIGINAL CHARACTERS: None
SHORT SUMMARY: Victor’s wife had an affair that resulted in a child. Though he didn’t meet that child, a daughter named Paige, until she was an adult, that’s never and easy situation. In this story Victor and his “stepdaughter” have some time alone. Will it be as awkward as Paige thinks? Or will they actually figure things out between them?
Disclaimer: I do not own Charmed, Paige, Victor, or anything mentioned in this story, besides the story it’s self. Enjoy.
Paige Matthews sighed as she walked through the doors of the Halliwell manor. Her new job had lasted all of a day. Sure, she had talked a ghost out of haunting the place, but in the process had left the printer room unlocked. Someone had snuck in and printed pages and pages of stupid images of their own body parts. An image of their face with a stuck out tongue had caught them, but Paige had been in trouble too for leaving the door unlocked. Since she was just a temp she had been asked not to return. There was no need to fire her when they could just say they didn’t need her any more and leave her to her real employers, the temp agency.
Paige slumped down in a chair in the front room. Why did every temp job she had have to have two things in common? It was so short lived, even for a temp job, and it had to do with magic. She was glad to have helped the people there, but a job that lasted more than say a week would be nice. She still figured a temp job would eventually find her the job she wanted, but she had hoped it would be a job without magic, a respite from her unpaid “real” job.
She learned against the back of the chair and closed her eyes. Tired from chasing Nikki, the insane office ghost, no not insane, just the mischievous and lonely ghost, she fell asleep.
Sometime later the doorbell woke her. Paige opened her eyes and sat up. She pushed herself up out of her chair and onto her feet. As she headed toward the door, the bell rang, again. “I’m coming, she mumbled, more to herself then to the person on the other side.
She reached the door and pulled it opened. Outside stood Victor Bennett. This is going to be one of those awkward times, she thought as she looked at him. Victor was the father of her half sisters, the husband her mother had left for Paige’s dad. Sometimes Victor treated her normal, probably when he didn’t think about exactly who she was. Other times, such as it appeared today would be, it was awkward, never rude or mean, just awkward.
“Hello, Victor.”
